The residents of Pagesangan, together with the Community Empowerment Institution (Lembaga Pemberdayaan Masyarakat or LPMK), Ludruk Warna Budaya Group, and Begandring Historical Community, have established the anniversary of Pagesangan village on November 18, 2023. The determination of this anniversary is based on artifact research conducted by T.P. Wijoyo from the Begandring Surabaya historical community.

Furthermore, the celebration of this anniversary was enlivened by a Ludruk Warna Budaya performance in collaboration with SMK 12 Surabaya. They presented the play “Sarip Tambak Oso” directed by cak Sulis. In this activity, the Arek Institute was involved in discussions before the anniversary determination and documented the Ludruk performance as part of a cultural documentation agenda in the Arek subculture environment. This activity is one of the public events carried out to support cultural advancement.

The result of this activity is the establishment of the anniversary of Pagesangan village based on the Kancana inscription (Bungur Lor) on October 31 or 1295 Saka (1373 AD). Through this activity, Pagesangan solidified the determination of its anniversary based on this inscription, as it narrates the presence of Pagesangan village in ancient times.
